Old Shoe

Tune:  Brighton Campy as AABnACnADnADn (A=figures, B=chorus, C=half slow chorus, D=slow chorus). n = #dancers/2. (abc pdf)


Formation: A set of 4 or 6, hankies.

Sequence: Once to Yourself, Up and out, Chorus, F-Gyp, Chorus, E-Gyp, Chorus, Pop-Tarts, Chorus.

Chorus: Challenge/crossing for each radial pair.
Challenge: All face the center. One double step in place; one double step into the center; turn 45 right on the "and";
pushbacks back to the set.  The set will have rotated one place clockwise.
Crossings: the pair who are currently on the first diagonal (after the challenge) will cross.  Crossings all end with 4 pit capers,
 turning to face into the set. crossings are:

  1. 4 up steps.
  2. 2 up steps, 2 X-capers (the first X-caper is face to face, the second is back to back).
  3. 4 beetle squashers (during the second beetle squasher right hand should be right in front of partner's stomach; during the third, right hand should be just behind partner's back).
  4. 4 X-capers (face to face on the second caper, back to back on the third)

Ending: all up with the last 4 pit capers.
