Normal qualifications for being considered as a research assistant: a
masters degree or equivalence in science or engineering, a published
(journal) paper, and a desire for a Ph.D. degree. If you do not have
these qualifications, please do not contact me to request for a
research assistant position. Note that the Computer Science
Department of the University of Kentucky will not grant a second
M.S. degree to those students who already hold an M.S. degree in
computer science. Not all students in the HiPSCCS Lab are receiving
financial aids. Any students are welcome to study and learn skills
in the HiPSCCS Lab.
Starting year 2002,
I will not supervise M.S. projects or independent study with
non-Ph.D. students in any areas. Only Ph.D. students
will be accepted, regardless of financial situation.
Short Time Visitors
From time to time, I hosted visitors from other institutions. These
visitor may or may not funded by me, and the nature of their visits
is different. Some of them may just come for a chat, others come for
giving a talk. In any cases, I always welcome visitors and will do
my best to make their visits comfortable.

Setting a goal to challenge myself was what I used to do, but not any
more. I have become knowing more and more about my ability and my
potentials. I now know what I can do, and more importantly,
what I want to do.
