The Laboratory for High Performance Scientific Computing and Computer Simulation is committed to the promotion of high performance scientific computing techniques and practice in general science and engineering, and industrial activities. Applicants must be admitted as PhD candidates in the Computer Science Department. A Master's degree in computer science, image processing, medical science, numerical analysis, applied mathematics, or in other areas with sufficient background in computer science and mathematics is usually required. A formal application package to the Graduate School should include transcripts, letters of recommendation, GRE, TOEFL (international applicants only), etc.
