Advising for Undergraduate Students
Director of Undergraduate Studies
Advising for Fall and Spring (and Summer) course planning and registration starts with submitting the following form
Online advising — see the web-based advising form (First Step Advising form), where you will find an overview of the entire process.
Follow the instructions received in the feedback from the email received after submitting the form.
Advising for Summer and Fall semesters is typically scheduled the last two weeks of March; for Spring and Summer (and the Winter intersession) the advising starts in the last ten days of October and and continues in the first weeks of November. We continue advising as needed (see the sidebar for hours and location). This page and links above provide information about procedures, advising sessions and advisors.
Advising is a very important process for students and for the department and we want to make it both efficient and useful. The department offers for our undergraduate and transfer students the following advising process for course registration and academic advising (see also the workflow picture below). In order to have the advising hold lifted, each student must contact the DUS by submitting:
- Online advising — see the web-based advising form (First Step).
Response to the submission of your completed Web-advising form will be provided by e-mail and the student will receive further instructions about the process.
Please make sure that all errors on your student dashboard in myUK are cleared and all required surveys (Haven, CATS, etc.) are completed.
A reminder for students who are planning to graduate in next semesters: fill out graduation paperwork by early Summer for August graduation, early September for December graduation and early November for May graduation. Submit forms in the College of Engineering to Ms BJ Brandenburg.
