AI in Fiction

This is by no means an exhaustive list. It deliberately omits a few such as Gibson's Idoru which seem to me to shed little light on AI, and omits many I haven't thought of or don't know.

If you have suggestions of other books to add, please send me email, with the author's name and the book's title. Thank you!

Note: There are books on this list that contain "adult material" (i.e., sex, violence, or politics). If you wish to avoid material you are likely to find offensive, ask me, someone else, or read reviews of the book on amazon.com. However, take care not to copy those reviews.

Other suggestions welcome!

Here are a few that I think have too little technical content to be used (included to preclude your suggesting them): Diane Duane, *Omnitopia Dawn, William Gibson, *Idoru; Harry Harrison and Marvin Minsky, The Turing Option: The Novel; Tanith Lee, *The Silver Metal Lover; Astro Teller, *Exegesis.

* I have read this book.
