Please join the CS Department in congratulating Josiah Hanna, a junior in Computer Science and the recipient of the first Duncan E. Clarke Memorial Innovation Award.
Josiah is an outstanding member of the department. Last spring, he received an honorable mention by the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship selection committee. This past summer, he spent three months in Paris, France, doing research on artificial intelligence.
The award Josiah received is named for Dr. Duncan E. Clarke, a faculty member in the Computer Science Department at UK from 1995 to 1998 who returned as an adjunct faculty member in 2004. He founded Fremont Associates, a software engineering and project management company, and made substantial and lasting contributions to research efforts in the Center for Visualization and Virtual Environments. His wife Martha established the Duncan E. Clarke Memorial Innovation Award as a tribute to Duncan's educational and career achievements, his passion for research, and his lifelong pursuit of innovation and excellence. The goal is to inspire students to excel and advance in their educational programs and careers. The award carries a $5000 payment.
Congratulations to Josiah!
