CS senior Scott Wagner wins Student Venture Challenge

Stadionaut, a mobile application development startup, took the grand prize in the first-ever iNet Venture Challenge, a business competition for University of Kentucky student entrepreneurs held at the Alumni House the end of March. Computer science major Scott Wagner was one member of the winning team that received the $2,000 first prize for their business concept for Stadionaut LLC.

CS Professor Becomes Visiting Research Scientist at Google Cultural Institute

Dr. Brent Seales, Gill Professor in UK's Computer Science department, has accepted a position as a visiting research scientist at the Google Cultural Institute. Specifically, Dr. Seales will be helping read the un-openable Dead Sea Scrolls through visualization. His role in this project will last for one year, which will be spent working in Paris.

2012 State STLP Programming Competition Results

UK recently hosted the state STLP--Student Technology Leadership Program--Programming competition. The teams came from all regions of Kentucky and represented all grade levels. With a record 60 schools participating, the competition was stiffer than ever and the judges had a tough job selecting the two winners for each category. The winners are listed below.
